AWESOME AND WONDERFUL

"I give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart. Your works are wonderful—I know that very well."  Psalm 139:14

In the morning I drive nearly 25 kilometers to work. First I have to drive on a busy and dangerous main road, then I turn off it and continue on narrow side roads until I reach my destination. Here I can only drive much slower, so I have the opportunity to admire the surrounding landscape. Actually, there is nothing special about it; it is mostly flat, a sight that may seem boring at first glance... But I still see God's wonderful work in it. The trees, the bushes, the small ponds, the flowers that bloom in a thousand colors on the roadside often fascinate me. At such times I praise God for His perfect creation and think about how beautiful this world would be if Satan had not ruined it. How perfectly everything is created! And how can we humans be so blind and short-sighted that we do not appreciate all this beauty enough. That we do not see in it the infinite power and greatness of God!

In my painting above, I tried to capture a lake in the Rocky Mountains and the majestic landscape surrounding it in an artistic form. I often think that if I could, I would paint the whole world, because there is so much beauty and wonder in nature that we could not even count it. And God gave it all to us, humans, to enjoy.

Let us praise Him every day for His grace that we can be part of this miracle...
