"I don't deal with politics..."

08/01/2026

See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. (Deut 30:15)

Oh, how many times have I heard this statement from others! I have seen the light of pride in their eyes as they extricate themselves, and in the meantime they burst with satisfaction, saying to themselves: "Well, yes, I will not lower myself to the dirty everyday life of politics. I am more than just dealing with such useless things. I have nobler goals. Why would I argue with all sorts of wisecrackers, profiteers, and scoundrels... I would achieve nothing with them anyway. Because what I want, they would prevent anyway... What would my word mean!"

We could analyze the thoughts and feelings that turn in the minds of people who utter such platitudes at such times for a long time... But is there any truth in their words?

Well, hardly. Anyone who makes such a superior remark and feigns neutrality is deceiving those around them, but mostly themselves. Because there is no person on Earth who does not engage in politics! Whether they want to or not, in today's digital world, where the flood of information flows unstoppably into our homes, "not politicizing" does not exist. Everyone is politicizing to some extent, because everyone has to form an opinion about their own environment to some extent, and based on this, they have to make decisions about it every day.

In other words, politicizing is inevitable. This is a fact, whether we like it or not. Because if we hide from society, if we live as hermits of our own free will on a desert island, we are still politicizing, because we decide that we do not want contact with our society and reject it for some reason. And if we are shipwrecked and end up on a desert island, we are still politicizing, because we are striving to get back to the community we long for.

So we have to make the decision anyway, no matter where we hide... We can't escape it... And here we have arrived at where I wanted to get to in my blog today: the compulsion to make a decision.

But now the question arises as to why and what kind of decision we have to make? Do we have to decide at all, or can we withdraw ourselves from it?

And the answer is clear; YES, we have to decide always, every day and every hour! Between GOOD and EVIL! Between GOD and SATAN. We cannot withdraw ourselves from it, just like we cannot withdraw ourselves from politics. We can never be completely neutral and impartial. We were simply created this way. Parallel to original sin, we were given free will. We ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This knowledge has been within us ever since, is passed on from generation to generation, and at the same time makes the series of decisions obligatory for us. On the one hand, it is freedom, and on the other hand, it is a huge, crucial responsibility for ourselves. Because no matter how we decide, it always has a series of consequences.

I often say that human life is like a huge tree, consisting of many thousands of branches and branches. When we reach a branch, we have to decide where to climb further. If we choose a branch, we cannot return to a lower branch, we have to climb further. We may end up in a similar situation, as if we had turned towards another branch, but never in exactly the same place. Therefore, every decision we make can bring about a huge loss or gain... And God, who sees the future, knows every part of the tree, and therefore is aware of all our decisions and possibilities. This is how the fact that He knows our past and future, and when He says that He calls us for a purpose, makes sense. We are not predestined, but our decisions are still only possible within a certain framework (tree).

At the same time, this also makes sense because we always have to decide between GOOD and EVIL. At every fork, there are these two options. There is no rainbow color, no gray, or a lighter version. There is white and black. Everything else is a lie somewhere, a tale of Satan. And there is only one way to decide between GOOD and EVIL with certainty (and well); with God's help. People often feel unable to decide because they do not rely on God's help. God is able to show people the right path even in the most difficult situations, if they ask for it. But God never forces himself on us! He does not pronounce the decision for us. He does not force his will on us. He always only advises. Ultimately, our will always prevails. That is why we have free will.

In short, we can conclude that we always have to make decisions in our lives, we cannot avoid the necessity of making decisions. As well as politics, that is, how we relate to our environment and its situation.

In the future, I will begin to analyze various events taking place in the world around us in the spirit of this statement. Please, my dear Reader, follow me on this very exciting journey...
